Salt and Summer
The sea air hit me the second I stepped onto the hotel terrace, that thick, salty smell that clings to your skin and reminds you of being young. I was there for a work conference, but the moment I saw her at the bar, all of that evaporated.
Marisol. She was leaning against the counter, laughing at something the bartender said, her dark hair loose and wild, falling past her shoulders. She wore a thin white sundress, and the evening sun was turning it almost transparent at the edges. She looked exactly like the girl who used to sit behind me in tenth grade, the one who always smelled like coconut and had a laugh that made me want to do stupid things.
She turned, and her eyes found mine. A slow, wide smile spread across her face.
"No fucking way," she said, sliding off the stool. "Alex?"
"Marisol." I walked over, my heart hammering. "You look... you look incredible."
"You too." She looked me up and down, not hiding it. "What are you doing here? This is the last place I'd expect to run into you."
"Conference." I gestured vaguely. "You?"
"My cousin's getting married here tomorrow. I came early to help set up." She took a sip of her drink, watching me over the rim of the glass. "So, you're a big businessman now? Last I heard you were still trying to fix that beat-up Civic of yours."
I laughed. "Yeah, well. Time changes things."
"Does it?" She put her glass down, and her voice dropped a little. "I don't feel that different."
The bar was getting crowded, but I didn't notice. All I could see was the way the light caught the curve of her neck, the faint sheen of sweat from the heat.
"Let's get out of here," I said, surprising myself.
"Where?"
"Walk on the beach."
She didn't hesitate. She grabbed her purse and took my hand, pulling me toward the stairs that led down to the sand. Her palm was warm, and I could feel her pulse against my fingers.
The beach was almost empty, just a few couples scattered in the distance. The water was dark, glinting with the last bit of sunset. We walked in silence for a minute, the waves filling the space between us.
"I used to have such a crush on you," she said suddenly, kicking off her sandals.
I stopped. "What?"
"I know. I was so obvious. Remember how I used to always sit next to you in chem? My friend kept telling me to just ask you out, but I was so nervous."
"You were the most confident girl I knew."
"Fake it till you make it, right?" She laughed, but there was something vulnerable in her eyes. "I thought about you a lot. Wondered what would have happened."
"Me too." I stepped closer. "I used to dream about you."
Her breath caught. "Did you?"
I reached out and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. The touch was electric. She didn't pull away. She tilted her head up, and I saw her lips part, and I kissed her.
It started soft, tentative, but she melted into me, her hands coming up to grip my shirt. The kiss deepened, and I tasted the salt on her lips, the faint sweetness of her drink. I could feel her body pressing against mine, the heat of her through the thin cotton of her dress.
"Alex," she whispered against my mouth. "I've wanted this for so long."
"I've wanted you for longer."
She pulled back, her eyes dark and hungry. She looked around, then grabbed my hand again and led me toward a cluster of rocks at the edge of the beach, where the shadows were thick and the sound of the waves was louder.
We stumbled behind the rocks, hidden from the world. She pressed me against the rough stone, her body molding against mine. Her hands were already working at the buttons of my shirt, and I was fumbling with the tie at the back of her dress.
"Careful," she breathed, laughing. "It's new."
"Then take it off slow."
She turned around, lifting her hair. I undid the knot, and the dress slid down her back in a whisper of fabric. She wasn't wearing a bra. Her skin was a deep, warm brown, smooth and glowing in the dim light, and her back curved into a waist that made my mouth go dry.
"Fuck," I muttered.
She turned to face me, completely bare from the waist up. Her breasts were full, her nipples dark and already hard. She saw me staring and smiled, a slow, wicked curve.
"Like what you see?"
"Marisol." I couldn't form a sentence.
She stepped forward and undid my pants, her fingers brushing against my cock as she pushed them down. I was already painfully hard. She wrapped her hand around me, stroking slow, and I had to bite my lip to keep from groaning.
"You're big," she whispered, her eyes widening slightly.
"Been a while since I've had a reason to impress anyone."
She laughed, low and throaty. "Let's make it worth it."
She turned around and bent over, bracing her hands on the rock. Her ass was round and perfect, and she looked back at me over her shoulder.
"Fuck me, Alex. I want to feel you inside me."
I didn't need to be told twice. I slid my hand over her hip, guiding my cock to her entrance. She was already wet — I could feel the heat of her, the slickness. I pushed in, and she gasped, her body clenching around me.
"God," she moaned. "Yes."
I started slow, letting her adjust, feeling every inch of her tight, hot pussy gripping me. Her head dropped forward, and she pushed back against me, taking me deeper.
"Don't be gentle," she said, her voice ragged. "I've been waiting too long for this."
I grabbed her hips and thrust harder, and she cried out, the sound swallowed by the waves. The rhythm built, fast and rough, our bodies slapping together with a wet sound that was almost drowned out by the sea. I could feel her trembling, her whole body shivering with each stroke.
"Alex, I'm close," she gasped. "Don't stop."
I reached around and found her clit with my fingers, rubbing in circles as I pounded into her. She came with a ragged scream, her body clenching and pulsing around me, and I followed right behind, spilling deep inside her.
We stayed like that for a moment, breathing hard, our bodies slick with sweat. She slowly straightened up, and I pulled out, feeling the warmth of her on my skin.
She turned around, her lips swollen, her eyes half-lidded. She smiled and reached out, pulling me close.
"That was..."
"Not nearly enough," she finished, laughing. "We have all night."
She took my hand and led me back toward the hotel, her dress still unbuttoned, her body pressed against my side.
"Your cousin's wedding," I managed. "Tomorrow."
"Plenty of time." She squeezed my hand. "And I'm a bridesmaid. I'll need to relax."
