Do I have to describe my character?

How do I keep the story from getting stuck?
Add events. A phone rings, the lights go out, someone knocks, the weather changes. Roleplay runs on small changes of situation. You can also say "time jump: the next morning" and the story moves. If you are repeating yourself, you are probably also repeating the setting.
Can I tell the AI what to do or not to do?
Yes, and it is a good habit. Short instructions in brackets such as "(slower)", "(more dialogue)" or "(keep the tone playful)" are followed well. State your limits early. Will it replace real relationships?
It will not, and it is not meant to. For most people it is an entertainment and a creative outlet, closer to interactive fiction than to a partner. If you notice that it crowds out sleep, work or friends, step back. A good session leaves you relaxed, not hungry for more screen time.
What if the replies are too long or too short?
Say so in brackets: "(shorter replies)" or "(more detail, two paragraphs)". The neural network adjusts almost immediately. A good rule is to match the length you want to receive, since the AI tends to mirror your own message size. If you write one line, expect roughly one short paragraph back.
Can I switch characters mid story?
Yes. If a character does not suit the scene, open a different one in the chat and paste your premise. You lose the earlier messages, but you keep the idea, and the second attempt is almost always sharper because you already know what you want.
What if I run out of ideas mid scene?
Ask the neural network to propose three possible next events and pick one: "(OOC: suggest three ways this scene could turn)". It is a quick way to get unstuck, and it turns the AI into a co-author instead of a mirror. You can also borrow a ready turn such as a missed call, a closed door or an unexpected guest, and the story will find a new direction within a message or two.
